I'm doing my best on that part, but the thing she said... she said that we cheated death somehow. I don't remember doing anything that grand before, so would this mean we all technically died when the train exploded and came back to life for some reason? And then this grim reaper thing didn't like that and is now pulling some weird things to kill everyone to "make it right"?
... well, I think some people place importance onto different things. Perhaps they just don't see their malfunctioning equipment to be a major problem.
